Not since George A. Romero's Night of the Living Dead was released in 1968 have zombies been more popular. This is partly thanks to Max Brooks' two bestselling books, but I wouldn't say he started the resurgence. I'd say I did, when I came up with Dr. Cosgrove's Zombie Extract. DCZE is a juice/tonic that contains actual bits of ground-up flesh from the undead. When administered by injection or ingestion, it can to turn your friends, enemies, family members, and lovers into zombies. The idea was to move beyond simply reading about zombies, or else watching them on screen, and actually interact with them hand to hand, face to face. And I'm not going for an if-we-really-get-to-know-them-we-might-better-understand-them, altruistic type thing, I just thought it would be fun. Zombies are the ultimate exotic other, which is why I think they're so popular.
